Mazhar Kaleem Pakistani novelist and one of the most famous names in Urdu fiction writing after Ibn-e-Safi. Basically famous for Imran Series he has written lot of short stories for kids as well. He is a multi dimensional personality excelling in all the fields he has set his foot in. He is a successful lawyer, fiction writer and anchorperson of a famous saraiki radio talk show from Radio Multan, Jamhoor-de-Awaz. He was elected as Senior Vice President of Multan Bar Council and is a very respected lawyer in Multan.His novels are so much intewresting which surrounds a great character ALI IMRAN that is a man of all the qualities. Mazhar Kaleem was born on 22nd July 1942 in Multan. His father Hamid Yar Khan was a retired police Inspector. His original name is Mazhar Nawaz Khan while Kaleem is his literary adoption, however he is now known as Mazhar Kaleem Khan only. He is a senior lawyer in Multan Bench of Lahore High Court. Mazhar Kaleem acquired fame through writing on the famous Ibn-e-Safi's Character Imran Series in late sixties . He has now written over four hundred novels and still going on. He has given many new characters to Imran Series and treaded various new topics in Mystery Novels like mystic crimes (Misaale Dunya) and Economical crimes (Kaghazee Qiyamat). Many of them give him the credit as generating an interest in habit of reading through his Imran Series. Even now his stature has Mazhar Kaleem has written a lot of stories for young children. He has introduced many characters like Chaloosak Maloosak, Chan Changloo, Aangloo Baangloo beside using Umru Ayyar & Tarzan in his stories. These stories are very popular in young children and written in his characteristic style to teach lessons rather than only narration of story. In fact his character Chan Changloo was used by other authors as well to write stories for children.
